I camped near the Bay of Fundy, took a picture, and made my meme of what I hope for every graduate student in Earth Sciences Graduate Seminar. Namely, research must be put into context for it to be effectively communicated.<\/p><\/div>Course Catalog Description<\/strong>: Discussion of holistic themes, discipline-specific issues, and current challenges in the Earth Sciences. Students actively participate in seminars delivered by student researchers, faculty, and invited speakers. Participation counts for a total of 2 credit hours (1 credit hour for each of two academic years). Prior to graduation, each student makes at least two seminar presentations and provides at least one formal critique of a presentation.\u00a0<\/p>\n Prerequisite<\/strong>: Admission into the MS Earth Sciences graduate program<\/p>\n Description<\/strong>: The MS Earth Sciences Graduate Seminar is a chance to think broadly about developing skills in the sciences beyond research methods, data collection, and textbook knowledge. Specifically, we will work on presenting research results, either yours or the research of other scientists. Presenting to any kind of audience always benefits from peer feedback, so your audience will provide constructive critique of your presentations.
