It covers methods for evaluating definite integrals, applications of integration, improper integrals, infinite series, Taylor series, and power series.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Prerequisite:<\/b><\/td>\n<td>MATH 1241 with a grade of C or better.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Book:<\/b><\/td>\n<td><em>Essential Calculus: Early Transcendentals, <\/em>by James Stewart, 2nd edition<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Calculators:<\/b><\/td>\n<td>The TI-84 and the TI-89\u00a0 are recommended but any other graphing calculator is fine-check with your instructor. The use of a calculator may not be allowed on some quizzes, tests, and a portion of the final exam.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Final Exam:<\/b><\/td>\n<td>It is a three hours closed book, comprehensive, common final exam. It consists of 3 parts. Part I multiple choice is designed to be done without calculators. Calculators are allowed on Part II multiple choice and Part III Free response.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Projects:<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Three projects are going to be given during the semester. Use link in the Header.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Webwork<\/b><b>:<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Some problem sets are going to be assigned on the internet via webwork. To access Webwork, go to the Math department website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.uncc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.math.uncc.edu\/<\/a> , click on the Webwork link, then choose your section. To log in, use your NinerNet username and password<strong>.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"background-color: #d9ddda\"><b>Old Finals:<\/b><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">To do well in the course, practice as many old common finals as possible.
