This study is a web-based, experiment that explores individuals’ attitudes about Internet privacy, privacy protection strategies, and individuals’ understanding of different social networking sites’ privacy policies as they relate to personal and commercial privacy.
What you will do: This study involves completing a brief online survey about your Internet privacy attitudes and behaviors as well as reading different scenarios in which your privacy may be breached by either another person or a company. Participation in the study typically takes approximately 30 minutes total and is entirely confidential. After you complete the online survey and reading through the different scenarios your participation in the study will be complete.
Who can be in the study: To participate in this study, you must be (1) 18-99 years old, (2) reads English, (3) uses social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or Snapchat at least once a week, and (4) primary resident of the United States.
Compensation: You will receive ½ credit via SONA Systems for your participation in this study.
