Many sites on CLAS Pages function as blogs (i.e. add new posts on a regular basis about news, updates, announcements or just random thoughts).  Some posts are very long but might be interesting only to a small group of readers.  Some sites may want their readers to scan all recent posts quickly.  Post excerpts can help.

More Tag

The “More tag”  allows you to specify how much text to show initially when viewing a site’s main page.  This tag will then insert a link to “Read More” or “Continue reading.”  When readers click on this link they’ll see the full post.  Here’s how to set it up:

1. Add a new post (or edit an existing post)
2. Put your cursor where you want to insert the more tag
3. Click on the “Insert More Tag” button in your post editor toolbar
4. Click the “Publish” (or “Update”) button
