Reedy Creek Restoration Study

The Reedy Creek Restoration Study (RCRS) is a multi-year watershed-scale project focused on understanding the effects of restoration of a forested urban watershed.   Overall, the goals of the RCRS are to determine the effect of watershed scale restoration on: 1) macroinvertebrate recovery in urban stream ecosystems; 2) watershed hydrology and groundwater-surface water interactions; and 3) water quality, organic matter, and sediment characteristics.  This project is in collaboration with Dr. Sara McMillan (Purdue University) and is funded by the Charlotte-Meckklenburg Stormwater Services (9/12-12/15).

Additional information about the Reedy Creek Nature Preserve and the stream restoration can be found here.
