The Carter Lab studies bacterial-fungal symbioses and their impact on host health. We are part of the Department of Biological Sciences and CIPHER. Our goal is to better understand how microbes interact with each other to inform new strategies for manipulation and control for agricultural, environmental, and human health. To do that, we use a variety of techniques and skills ranging from molecular biology to genetics to bioinformatics. We aim to be a safe, collaborative, and supportive space to conduct research and develop skills.
