Presentation Discussion
Obviously, this Presentation assignment was developed for a face-to-face class, which we won’t have. You still have a Presentation grade, so I’ve come up with three ways to do this. Basically, this presentation is based on your Technology Project. I want to stay as true as possible to the public speaking goal of this assignment, but, because of the potential of bandwidth issues thwarting a 16-person class from presenting, we need to adjust the requirements. Here are the options I’ve come up with:
Option #1
Making a 4-5 minute video based on your Technology Project. You will speak and have visuals. It shouldn’t be a video of just you talking for 4-5 min; instead, consider this a “voice over” that narrates your presentation.
This has do be at least 4-5 min–don’t go under 4 min, and don’t go over 5 min. The goal is for you to choose the appropriate details to fit into this timeframe.
Option #2
On Monday, 4/27, during our original class time of 2:30-3:15, you’ll get on Webex and give a 4-5 min presentation. I will transfer the “sharing” ability on Webex, so you can share your PowerPoint, Webpage, or whatever visuals you need for this presentation. Whoever wants this must logon at 2:30 pm (4/27).
Option #3
Submit a PowerPoint or similar visual that you could use for a presentation. This, of course, is also based on your Technology Project.
This option doesn’t fulfill the public speaking goal, so I consider it three-quarters of the assignment, so the highest grade you can get on this option is 75%, which is a 37 out of 50 (technically, it’s 37.5, but I’m not giving 0.5 grades).
Next Class
I won’t have a new page up for Wednesday, 4/22. Make sure you do the survey on Canvas before Friday, 4/24 at 5:00 pm–not 11:00 pm–to indicate which presentation option you’ll choose. If you choose Option #2, it would be best to first make sure you can use Webex. E-mail me, and I’ll set up a time we can logon and try it out.
