Students get put on waitlists and then get permits to enroll based on credits taken. For getting on the waitlist to get a permit, contact Jennie Mussington (jmussing).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"style17\">I&#8217;m teaching ENGL\/WGST 4008\/5008\/4050\/5050 &#8220;New Media: Gender, Culture, Technology&#8221; next semester, and it\u00a0counts as an upper-level Language and Digital Technology course and as a course for the Technical\/Professional Writing Minor<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Tonight&#8217;s Plan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Presentations!!!<\/li>\n<li>Final Exam stuff<\/li>\n<li>Turn in your <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/pages.uncc.edu\/aaron-toscano\/engl4182-5182fall2017\/informationdesignassignments2017\/#portfolio\">portfolios<\/a><\/strong>. If you don&#8217;t have a folder, let me know.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Presentations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>How about some volunteers&#8230;If I don&#8217;t get any, I&#8217;ll just go <strong>reverse<\/strong> alphabetically.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"style8\" align=\"left\"><b>Final Exam Stuff<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"style8\" align=\"left\"><span class=\"style9\">Can you believe it&#8217;s just one week before the final exam? Unbelievable. Well, you have nothing to fear if you&#8217;ve been coming to class and reading. The final will focus mainly on <em>The Non-Designer&#8217;s Design Book<\/em> (Ch. 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12) and<em> Design for Information\u00a0<\/em>(Ch. 4, 5, and 6). Also, ethos, pathos, and logos will be extremely important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"style8\" align=\"left\"><span class=\"style9\">Make sure you know the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"style9\">\n<li><span class=\"style8\">Spacing between lines and letters<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"style8\">Various names for types of fonts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"style8\">Typeface fundamentals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"style8\">Extratextual elements<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Color and ways to talk about color<\/li>\n<li>CMYK and RGB<\/li>\n<li>Ethics and visuals&#8211;images and graphs, charts, tables<\/li>\n<li>Forms, Lists, and Tables as products of bureaucratic culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"style8\" align=\"left\">The final exam will be fill in the blank, short answer, and an essay-ish question that will ask you to identify ______, _______, and _______.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Next Week and Beyond<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You&#8217;ll have your final exam in one week&#8211;<strong>12\/11\/2017<\/strong>\u00a0@ 6:30 pm. Please check to make sure you don&#8217;t have any conflicts. Yes, you can come later if you have a conflict with another exam. Remember, if you&#8217;ve been coming to class and reading the exam will be easy.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck.
