This is a path I developed mainly after working with Warren Pettee.
Warren Pettee with the Vantage Pro II weather station that talks to our display on the 1st floor of McEniry and to the webpage. Atkins library, the tallest building on campus, is in the background.
The clearest product of this research is the Niner Nation Weather display case on the first floor of McEniry, but we also have the web portal at weather dot uncc dot edu. Warren was even featured in a nice write-up by our college PR people. The weather station, weather display, and weather webpage are joined by TOA Systems who are running the US Precision Lightning Network to deploy a sensor on the McEniry roof that contributes to lightning detection and location. We have the computing equipment via small funds, surplus, and gumption.
