We are looking for experienced middle or high school mathematics teachers (5 years or more) in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and neighboring school districts who would be interested in mentoring Noyce Scholars. Mentor teachers will work jointly with UNC Charlotte faculty to guide the scholars in their experience. Scholars will observe the mentor teacher in the class and work more closely with two or three students with different background and experiences. Along with helping the students with the content, the scholars will foster relationships with these students over time. The scholars will write regular reflections and complete assignments related to the students. All the assignments will be submitted through Canvas to their faculty mentor.
Mentor teachers will be paid a stipend of $375/semester ($750/year) and will need to register in the Office of School and Community Partnerships at UNC Charlotte.
