My name is Monica Dague. I am currently in my seventeenth year of teaching, fourteenth year at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School in Cabarrus County. I majored in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Mathematics and English/Language Arts. I earned my undergraduate degree from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio in 2001. I moved to the Charlotte area in 2004 from Ohio. In 2011, I earned my Master’s in Education from UNCC. When I am not teaching or attending school functions/activities, I enjoy spending time with my seven year old son and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes!
Hello! My name is Jerold Griggs, and I am a 7th Grade Math Teacher at Kannapolis Middle School. I am originally from Decatur, Georgia. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Math Education from Georgia Southern University. I also have a Masters in Middle Grades Education from UNCC. I have taught 7th and 8th-grade math for 17 years. I have coached middle and high school basketball in Kannapolis for 16 years. The thing I most enjoy about teaching is how I get to mold and shape my students into the adults that they will grow up to be. It is always so refreshing to see and hear the encouraging stories about former students that I have taught. Being a Middle Grades Math Teacher has been challenging but it has been so rewarding!

I am in my 25th year of teaching, all of which have been here in Cabarrus County. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Lenoir Rhyne University. I completed a dual Master’s Degree at UNCC in Gifted and Talented and Learning Disabled Education. I love my job!!! I am an advisor for the Book Club and the Science Club. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening with my husband and working puzzles. I am the mother of two beautiful, independent, strong young women!

I earned my undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas. I am currently teaching Math 1. Hi, my name is Enchante Lawson. I am a math teacher at Vance High School. This is my ninth year of teaching. I earned my undergraduate degree at South Carolina State University in Secondary Mathematics Education. I earned my Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education from UNCC. I was a collegiate athlete in undergraduate. I am now “professional fan” of the Vance Cougars Basketball teams. I teach Math 2 to 10th grade students.
My name is Dru Lockridge, I am an 8th grade math teacher at Stanley Middle School STEAM Academy in Stanley, North Carolina. I graduated from Appalachian State University with my BS in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Social Studies. This is currently my 5th year teaching and all of my time has been spent at Stanley. I coach the cheerleading team here at Stanley, and I have worked with several marching bands and colorguard groups in the Gaston County area. I really enjoy teaching and could never imagine a life outside of the classroom. I love making genuine connections with students and being a part of their everyday lives.

My name is Tonya Singletary. I am a 6th grade math teacher at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, NC. This is my 12th year in education. I am originally from Bellaire, Ohio and attended the University of Mount Union where I obtained my degree in Middle Childhood Education. My concentration areas were math and social studies. I got my position at Bailey and moved to the Charlotte area right after graduation. I currently live in Huntersville with my husband, Ben and two-year-old son, Beau.

I graduated from Florida A&M University receiving a BS in Computer Information Science. Years later, I earned a MBA with a concentration in Information Technology and a M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction: Math Education at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have 10 years of teaching experience, and all 10 years I have been at Vance High School.
