Dr. Gladston Xavier is Dean of Arts and Professor of Social Work at Loyola College in Chennai, India.  He is actively engaged in conflict transformation and peace building at the national and international level and works closely with the Organization for Eelam Refugees Rehabilitation, a self-help organization that supports Sri Lankan refugees.  He has also consulted with numerous agencies engaged in disaster relief and sustainable development, including the United Nations, OXFAM and Christian Aid.

Sponsored by the UNC Charlotte Department of Global, International & Area Studies and its Center for Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Studies in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

This event is part of this series: “The Office of International Programs is pleased to announce the Immigration Today Film and Discussion Forum, a discussion series based on Harvest of Empire: The Untold Stories of Latinos in America, a documentary film which explores the history of U.S. connections to seven countries (in Latin American, North America, & the Caribbean) and current immigration relationships between the USA and these countries. Discussions will be held Monday evenings from 5:30 -6:30 pm through November 18, with a culminating event scheduled during International Education Week.”
