{"id":42,"date":"2014-03-04T13:03:36","date_gmt":"2014-03-04T18:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pages.charlotte.edu\/jeanette-bennett\/?page_id=42"},"modified":"2021-10-01T12:37:54","modified_gmt":"2021-10-01T16:37:54","slug":"research-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pages.charlotte.edu\/jeanette-bennett\/research-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My research focuses on how stress and individual differences influence health, both mental and physical.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/pages.charlotte.edu\/swbrl\">Stress<em>WAVES<\/em> Biobehavioral Research Lab<\/a> was established in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>We emphasize study designs that utilize physiological assessment in tandem with self-report mood or behavioral questionnaires, task manipulations, and sociodemographics and life experiences surveys.\u00a0 Our physiological tools enable us to examine the activity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, immune system, and metabolism.
