My primary job duties include: Supporting the hardware and software used on campus by various clients, departments & colleges. This would include all Apple products as well as those products that run the Windows operating system. I treat people the way that I would want to be treated so therefore my customer service skills are topnotch. I enjoy helping anyone and explaining what they need to know in way that they will understand. Another aspect of my job duties is to coordinate the installation of all new PC’s that arrive on campus. This entails having to coordinate installations with clients as well as our third party vendor for installation, Alphanumeric. This gets accomplished by keeping track of new hardware on an Excel Spreadsheet. I have written Visual Basic code that helps me streamline my record keeping. I also coordinate the installation of student labs, which can range from 10 PC’s to over 50 at one time. Have you gone to the Software Download Page (software.uncc.edu) and download software for your personal PC? If you have, then you have seen some more of what my job duties include. I write all the documentation and manage the software that is included on that page. Some software is complex in nature so at times I have to zip up all the files into one manageable file. I am also tasked with keeping track of all ITS hardware that the employees use. This includes keeping a record of all serial numbers and type of equipment ITS employees use. Well, I have personally trained and helped many on campus with regards to those questions and concerns.
