Prior to joining UNC-Charlotte, Dr. Rodr\u00edguez-Castro was an Assistant Professor at University of Louisville (KY). She teaches specialized translation practice (Scientific, Technical, Medical, Legal Translation), computer-assisted-translation and NMT tools and project management. She has also taught courses on Spanish for specific purposes. She is an interdisciplinary scholar and her primary research interests include empirical studies in translator job satisfaction, translation pedagogy and corpus linguistics. She has been awarded internal faculty grants at UNC Charlotte to pursue research studies in machine translation and post-editing as well as language representations of mental health.\u00a0 She is involved in multiple community projects involving the Latino community in the US and attempts to enhance an active scholarship of engagement.\u00a0 She has worked as a professional translator and interpreter and is involved in creating new partnerships that aim at enhancing students\u2019 experiential learning experiences. She served as interim administrator for the Educators Division at the American Translators Association and held several leadership positions at the Carolina Association for Translators and Interpreters (CATI). She has also served as subject matter expert on the Job Task Analysis Committee of the American Association of Translators and Interpreters in Education (AAITE). In 2012, she was awarded the Victor A.
