Dunn, Hattie

Mrs. Hattie Dunn was born on March 2, 1934 in Mint Hill, North Carolina. After she got married she moved to Revolution Park to become a new homeowner and in 1968 she made the official move to Revolution Park from Brookhill Apartments which is located on Remount Rd. Moving just down the street, her and her husband, Leon Dunn, bought a house. When living in Revolution Park, Mrs. Dunn worked for IBM, was a “block captain,” and an active member of the neighborhood committee during the years that Marvin Cuffee was president. Due to the fact that she moved to the neighborhood after her daughter was out of school and she was focused on her work, she talked a lot about Revolution Park in its present after her retirement. In the interview she focused more on her street and the concerns for the community.
