Ross, James

James “Bubba” Ross II was born in December 1934 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Although he was not a resident of Revolution Park, he was and continues to be a frequent golfer at Revolution Park Golf Course. Because of his experience, he had a lot of information about urban renewal, the impact of I-77 on the neighborhoods of West Charlotte, and the importance of the golf course to the African-American community. Being an active member of the Mecklenburg Country Black Heritage Committee, his knowledge of the area is very useful to not only understanding the make-up of Revolution Park, but of West Charlotte as a whole.
