Although he was not a resident of Revolution Park, he was and continues to be a frequent golfer at Revolution Park Golf Course. Because of his experience, he had a lot of information about urban renewal, the impact of I-77 on the neighborhoods of West Charlotte, and the importance of the golf course to the African-American community.
