I am native of Charlotte, NC. I began my undergraduate studies at North Carolina A&T State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, Concentration in Mass Communications from Winston-Salem State University in 2012. Currently, I’m in the Middle Grades English/Language Arts Teaching Graduate Certificate program at UNC Charlotte. In the fall, I will be switching to the Masters in Liberal Studies program.
I’m a sports and music nerd. I love 80s music and movies. 1984 was the best year for both in the 80s. That’s also the year that I was born so maybe that had something to do with it… I’m sure it didn’t!
I’m currently employed at UNC Charlotte. I serve as a Program Coordinator in the Office of Multicultural Academic Services. I coordinate two programs in our department: Building Better Brothers, a minority male mentoring program and University Transition Opportunities Program, a summer bridge program for incoming freshman where students have an opportunity to start college early, gain 7 credit hours and get acclimated to the university early. It’s my desire to finish my degree and move into an assistant director role in our office and continue to coordinate these programs.
