A graduate student completing an M.A. in English with a concentration in Technical/Professional Writing, I currently work as a writing tutor for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

While work and study occupy much of my time, I do enjoy spending free moments pursuing my passion for motorcycles.  This entails more than just riding when the weather permits; my father-in-law has graciously allowed me to assist him in the operation of his motorcycle service shop, providing me a free apprenticeship in the maintenance and repair of my preferred method of transportation.  For me, the act of removing oil and grease from under my fingernails has become a portent of a productive day.

My other main hobby, when the time finds me, is the study of popular political and philosophical debates.  The philosophy classes I took for my undergraduate minor instilled in me an intellectual curiosity.  Knowing how is never enough; I must also know why.  Or as Dr. Wickliff insists, “According to whom and compared to what?”  Conveniently, there is a great deal of crossover between the process one must undertake to analyze an argument and the process of analyzing a motorcycle with a starting issue.

I intend to meld my educational experience with my love of methodical and detail oriented thinking in whatever career I pursue.
