Only the very best research dissertations are chosen for this award, which is presented by the Graduate School to recognize outstanding research and scholarship by a doctoral student at UNC Charlotte. Tarannum and Dooley-Kennedy will receive a cash prize and a plaque, and they will represent UNC Charlotte in the CGS\/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Competition. The CGS winner will receive an honorarium of $2,000 and a certificate of citation, which will be presented at the annual meeting of the Council of Graduate Schools.
