The PLEASE Program is a sexual health peer education program. The PLEASE Program seeks to engage UNCC’s students in dialogues about sexuality and healthy relationships, and to promote safer sex behaviors. We participate in events on campus (Small group discussions, Sextival, Cookies and Condoms, The Slut Walk) as well as facilitating informal conversations. Students will be trained in sexuality topics and misconceptions, communication, advocacy, and basic evaluation. Both graduate and undergraduate students are invited to apply.
Benefits
Our team members are passionate about sexual health and they get to meet others who share this passion. Members get valuable experience and training. We also welcome new interest areas, so if you aren’t seeing/hearing it then let’s make it happen!
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: attending training and group meetings, presenting at events, having dialogues with peers/friends, reporting on education activities, monitoring the condom/lubricant dispenser, and assisting with College climate evaluation. We operate on a points system and you must accrue 8 points each semester for continued membership. Graduating seniors in good standing receive cords for graduation.
