Dr. Anita Blowers is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and serves as Core Faculty for the Gerontology Program and Affiliated Faculty for Public Policy PhD program.
Dr. Blowers teaches a wide array of undergraduate courses including: Introduction to Criminal Justice; American Criminal Courts; Problem & Decisions Criminal Justice; Elders and the Criminal Justice System; Movies and the Portrayal of Crime and Justice. At the graduate level Dr. Blowers has taught courses such as: The Criminal Justice System; Prosecution and Adjudication; Elders and the Criminal Justice System
Areas of research include elder abuse, elderly offenders, court processing, criminal justice policy, and elder abuse. In addition to her scholarship in the field of criminal justice, Dr. Blowers conducts research on topics such as academic advising, student retention, and assessment of student learning.
