A group of 4 law professors and prosecutors from Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing, China, paticapates a comprehensive training program for judges and prosecutors in juvenile justice. The Chinese delegation includes Professor Sun Changyong, vice president of SWUPL; Professor Long Zongzhi, a faculty member at SWUPL and president of the China Bar Association; Professor Li Changlin, a vice dean of SWUPL; and Xia Yang, a prosecutor and a faculty member at SWUPL.

The University of North Carolina – Charlotte (UNCC) and South West University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) hold the first International Conference on Drugs and Drug Issues in Chongqing, China in June 2010.

Sponsored by: the Chongqing Police Department Institute of Criminology, The Institute on Drug Crime and Public Policy, SWUPL, and the School of Law, SWUPLIn the spirit of this Declaration this conference will bring together:

1) Leading Chinese scholars and drug policy makers;
2) Leading Chinese, American and other international scholars on drugs and drug control;
3) Criminal justice and drug treatment practitioners to discuss alternative policies;
4) High-level representatives of the Chinese, American and other police responsible for drug law enforcement;
5) Policy representatives from the United Nations Narcotics Commission and representatives from both drug “producing” and “consuming” countries.
