Alan Turovlin joined the Belk College faculty in 2021. Dr. Turovlin received his D.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As a long-time practitioner (30+ years) in the corporate setting and as a C-level executive, his knowledge of project, program, and business management is firsthand and vast. He held the positions of Chief Transformation Officer for Canon Europe, Partner/Managing Director for KPMG, Chief Information Officer for Carl Icahn’s portfolio of private and public companies, and Interim Executive for multiple, private equity firms. His enterprise experience spans early-stage, venture capital-funded companies to late-stage, distressed companies.
His research interests include (a) the relationships between a firm’s capabilities in information technology and the business value derived from that information technology as well as (b) the impact of disruptions to the pharmaceutical drug supply chain.
Dr. Turovlin teaches courses in the management of information systems, operations and supply chain management, and business analytics.
