Dr. Catherine Blat has over 20 years of experience in higher education academic support programs. She advocates for enhancing students’ academic experience through data driven improvements. She initiated the College of Engineering Freshman Learning Community, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) UNC Charlotte Chapter, and co-led the implementation of the New Student Convocation. Before rejoining the College of Engineering, she was the Director of the University Center for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Blat holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master in Science of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Urban Mathematics Education from UNC Charlotte.
