Kelly Vosters joined the Belk College of Business in August 2016, after receiving her Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University. Her research interests lie in the areas of labor economics, applied econometrics and the economics of education. One of her specific research focuses is intergenerational mobility, examining the extent to which economic status is passed on from one generation to the next. Her other current research is focused in the economics of education, including one set of ongoing projects related to affordable housing, parental sorting, and academic achievement, as well as other projects evaluating approaches for estimating teacher effectiveness. Her work has been published in the Economic Journal, the Journal of Labor Economics, and the Economics of Education Review.
