Dr. Linwood Kearney joined the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte in 2016. Previously, he was on the accounting faculties at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 2 years and Wichita State University for 7 years. He received the Undergraduate Instructor of the Year in 2012 at Wichita State University. Dr. Kearny worked at Nortel Networks Corporation as a senior financial analyst and database administrator as well as H&R Block as a tax preparer and in quality assurance. He received his Ph.D. in accounting from Florida State University, MAC from North Carolina State University and MBA and BSBA from East Carolina University. Dr. Kearney’s research focuses on issues in judgment and decision making in taxation and managerial accounting. His research has been published in Practical Tax Strategies and the Journal of Management Accounting Research. Dr. Kearney is a CPA, licensed in North Carolina, and a member of the American Accounting Association.
