The Marino lab works to advance our understanding of the regulation of skeletal muscle mass and metabolism to improve sports performance. Dr. Marino is currently the Departmental Research Project Director for the U.S. Performance Center, providing access to National and Olympic-level athletes. Furthermore, Dr. Marino has established several industry partnerships focused on improving recovery and reducing stress in athletes. Our current research interests include:
- The effects of sport specialization on long-term athlete development
- Risk factors associated with the female athlete triad
- The effect of sleep disturbance on athletic performance and health
- Resistance training adaptations in healthy and diseased skeletal muscle
Education:
