UNC Charlotte maintains a strong commitment to undergraduate education while being a Doctoral/Research University – Intensive and the 4th largest institution in the 16-campus UNC System. The university contains 7 professional colleges and currently offers 18 doctoral programs, 62 master’s degree programs, and 90 bachelor’s degrees. The institution intentionally engages students in the discovery, dissemination, synthesis, and application of knowledge through research at all academic levels. Several programs and services have been provided through UNC Charlotte and various departments that encourage the participation of undergraduate students and high school students in academic research, particularly in the STEM areas.
