Roy Fielding is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Aquatics in the Department of Kinesiology at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mr. Fielding has assisted the American Red Cross over the last 12 years with the development and implementation of the Lifeguard and Lifeguard Management programs, in addition to serving as a Chapter volunteer for more than 40 years. Recently he has served as a member of the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council, and was Vice Chair of two Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) technical committees for the CDC. Roy was recently named one of top most influential individuals in aquatics in the United States by Aquatics International Magazine in its Power 25. His latest work involves collect data regarding lifeguard rescues through the Lifeguard Rescue Reporting System in both the United States and Canada. He is a member of the University of Northern Iowa Athletic Hall of Fame for swimming and the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Studies Hall of Excellence.
