We are interested in understanding the role of social media in transmitting information in society, and bring to bear research perspectives from public policy, political science, psychology, computer science, and communications.
We launched the current study to explore how people react to shocking events on social media. We are interested in how people make meaning of events, how they engage or disengage from social media, and why they choose to post or not post on their own social media accounts.
