Dr. Stephanie Moller earned her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on income inequality within the United States and cross-nationally, as well as mathematics achievement in primary and secondary schools, examining racial, ethnic, and socio-economic disparities. Additionally, she conducts research on emotional energy. Dr. Moller has published extensively in prestigious journals, including the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Social Science Research, Sociology of Education, and World Politics. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education. She previously served on the Editorial Board of the American Sociological Review and as Editor of Social Science Research.
Dr. Moller has held several leadership positions, including Chair of the Sociology Department, Director of the Public Policy Doctoral Program, and Director of the Sociology MA Program. She also chaired the Faculty Council in the College and gained industry experience as a Senior Vice President of Brand and Advertising Research at Bank of America.
In service to the community, Dr. Moller owns a yoga studio that offers mindfulness and movement classes designed to support emotional health.
