Youngseob Eum, PhD

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte). My major research areas include geographic information science (GIScience), environmental health, human mobility, and geospatial artificial intelligence. The overarching goal of my research is to understand the interrelations between human health, mobility, and social/natural environments, with a keen focus on demographics and socioeconomic disparities. In addition, my research interests also include spatial data quality/uncertainty issues in the inference of human mobility patterns and environmental exposure assessment. I hope my research endeavors contribute to make the society healthy, equitable, and sustainable.

Prospective students: Funded research assistant (RA) positions will be available for M.A. students starting in August 2025. Those interested in working with me are encouraged to contact me directly.
