Welcome to my website!

I am a professor of Psychological and Organization Science at UNC Charlotte.  My research interests include online and Face-to-face groups and communities. I am primarily an organizational psychologist, but because online groups and communities easily cross work and life boundaries, my research does too!

I head up the Virtual Identity, Community, and Entitativity (VICE) Research Lab. We are composed of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students in Organizational Science, Psychological Science, Sociology, and Human-Computer Interactions.  Indeed, we are the VICE squad!!
