Projects

Three projects are available and will be assigned by your instructor.

Math1241 Project 1 – Limits and Asymptotes: In this project, Limits will be calculated and the asymptotic behavior of rational functions will be studied using graphs and tables.

Math1241 Project 2 – Difference Quotient and Derivatives: In this project, numerical values of the derivative will be calculated using the limit of the difference quotient and a calculator program will be created to compute the slope of the secant line.

Math1241 Project 3 – Derivatives, Zeros, and Newton’s method : In the first part of this project, students explore (graphically and numerically) the relationship between the derivative of a function and the function itself. In the second part, Newton’s method will be used to find the zeros of functions through Calculus.
