
I camped near the Bay of Fundy, took a picture, and made my meme of what I hope for every graduate student in Earth Sciences Graduate Seminar. Namely, research must be put into context for it to be effectively communicated.
Prerequisite: Admission into the MS Earth Sciences graduate program
Description: The MS Earth Sciences Graduate Seminar is a chance to think broadly about developing skills in the sciences beyond research methods, data collection, and textbook knowledge. Specifically, we will work on presenting research results, either yours or the research of other scientists. Presenting to any kind of audience always benefits from peer feedback, so your audience will provide constructive critique of your presentations. You will then have a chance to review and build from that.
Objectives
1. Practice presenting research results
2. Improve both your delivery of and reception to peer feedback
3. Learn about navigating your MS
