Project Updates: The group formerly known as the grid group will be meeting online in Febrary 5 – email us now to get in on the conversation. The research agenda, assessment tools, and public communication groups have also been very busy planning for the 2014 meeting and beyond. More on projects and how to join them here.

Call for Papers: Several of our network members are organizing a special issue on Sustainability in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. If you have research in this area, the call is available here.

INSS Blog this Month: The INSS blog posts in January included an interview with Cris Surbeck as part of a new series on learning about other network members. We also have a new post about member work – send us what you’ve done for next month’s installment! As usual, please enjoy the ideas of our network members and join the conversation through comments and your own posts. And please email us with any ideas for a post of your own..

Know someone who should be a member? We are always recruiting new members for the network, particularly in underrepresented areas, like practitioners in public health, safety, or planning. If you know anyone working in these areas, please recommend them here.

Not getting these regularly? Make sure to add socialsustainabilitynetwork@gmail.com to your address book, so your mail program doesn’t think we’re spam. Back issues of the newsletter are available here.

Finally, welcome to our new members, and thanks to those who continue to keep the network active and exciting!
